Q. Can I use the TabCruzer with a skin or case?
A. No the TabCruzer is not compatible with any cases or skins. The skin or case must be removed before installing your iPad into the TabCruzer
Q. Can I listen to audio thru the headphone jack of my iPad?
A. Yes, however if you remove power from the TabCruzer (i.e. turn off your car) the iPad will route audio through the docking connector next time the TabCruzer is powered. To get audio back though the headphone jack, remove and reinsert the headphone into your iPad
Q. Why can’t I play audio through my iPad’s internal speakers?
A. The TabCruzer interacts with the iPad to enable audio out and the pause on power removal features. Because of this, your iPad will only play audio through the headphone jack or the TabCruzer jack while charging. If you would like to play audio through the iPad speakers, power the TabCruzer then remove power and press play to resume playback. Audio will play through the onboard speakers until power is reapplied to the TabCruzer.
Q. My iPad shows the error “This accessory is not supported by iPad.” What does this mean?
A. This is due to a communication error with the iPad. Dismiss the error and all functionality should remain. Alternately you can re-dock your iPad to clear the error.
Q. I lost my key(s), can I order new ones?
A. Gamber-Johnson cannot supply replacement keys. A duplicate key can be made from your spare key. Contact your local locksmith and inquire if they can make copies of “barrel” or “tubular” keys. If you have lost both keys, please contact customer service to inquire about sending your TabCruzer in for service to have the lock replaced.
Q. Can I use the rear facing camera on my iPad when it is mounted in the TabCruzer?
A. No. The form factor of the TabCruzer does not allow the rear facing camera to be used when docked. The front facing camera is fully functional when the device is docked.
Q. I lost my insert. Can I get a new one?
A. Yes, contact Gamber-Johnson about a replacement.
