Environmental and Regulatory Compliance

Gamber-Johnson is committed to protecting and preserving the environment and being a responsible global corporate citizen. We are dedicated to complying with the requirements of all applicable environmental legislation and regulations wherever our products are marketed or sold.

Environmental Compliance Program

RoHS and WEEE are directives specifically limited to the European Union. Many other countries and individual states within the US have or are considering similar legislation. Gamber-Johnson continues to monitor the development of new legislation and will market our products accordingly.

RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive)

Directive 2011/65/EC of the European Parliament prohibits the sale of electrical or electronic equipment that contain more than specified levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).

WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive)

Directive 2012/19/EC of the European Parliament aims to reduce the amount of electrical and electronic equipment waste through collection, recycling and recovery. Together, RoHS and WEEE work hand-in-hand to reduce the amount of hazardous substances used in the production, reduce the risk of exposure to both production and recycling staff, and reduce recycling costs.

All new Gamber-Johnson products are designed using RoHS-complaint materials. Many legacy products are also RoHS compliant. Contact our sales team to match products to your environmental needs.

3 R's

As a natural extension of our RoHS and WEEE programs, Gamber-Johnson associates actively participate in Reduce, Reuse and Recycle programs.  From corrugate and skids through batteries, PCB’s, metals, plastics, IT equipment, lighting and personal electronic equipment, Gamber-Johnson works with our supply chain and local recycling facilities to eliminate waste from our landfills.

Conflict Minerals Sourcing Policy

Gamber-Johnson, in conjunction with our supply chain, has implemented a good faith process to identify and eliminate tin, tungsten, tantalum and gold sourced from conflict. Gamber-Johnson Purchase Order Terms and Conditions require our supply chain to work through their sub-suppliers to ensure transparency and traceability throughout the manufacturing process to the smelter or refiner level. Traceability information is maintained by the supplier(s) for a minimum of five years.
