Gamber-Johnson Receives Wisconsin Governor’s Export Achievement Award – 2015
March 24, 2023

Stevens Point, WI – Gamber-Johnson has received the 2015 Governor’s Export Achievement Award for their efforts in growing their export business. Each year, the Governor of Wisconsin salutes state firms and organizations that have achieved extraordinary results in international markets or have contributed to Wisconsin’s ability to compete in the global economy. The Export Achievement Awards are intended to highlight firms that have achieved significant growth or implemented innovative strategies and can serve as examples to other state firms.

“We are greatly honored to receive the 2015 Wisconsin Governor’s Export Achievement Award,” comments Brian Wagner, president of Gamber-Johnson.  “Through the outstanding effort of our team and invaluable support from the State of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), Centergy and the Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership (WMEP), we are now doing business in more than 30 countries worldwide.  Since 2011, Gamber-Johnson’s export business has continued to grow dramatically and has significantly contributed to our overall success.”

Gamber-Johnson, located in Stevens Point, WI, is a global, leading manufacturer of rugged mounting systems, docking stations and related products for mobile communications, computers and other electronic equipment for fleet vehicle and other mobility applications.

2015 Gov Export Award

“Exports are a pillar of our strategy to grow.  If you are not exporting you are missing 95% of the world’s population,” states Gautam Malik, Director of Operations and International Sales.  “There is a value of having a strategically-crafted export expansion plan. Exporting is achievable if:  you know the strategy behind trade finance, can identify and manage customers and channel partners, conduct sufficient market research to pinpoint the correct countries to enter, understand legal compliance, and have a cohesive go-to-market strategy and brand promise. Every target market is different and it is important to customize your marketing and product offering for that market. For example, Gamber-Johnson invested resources and created new products to meet market needs for the European market where cars are much smaller when compared to US. Our success would not have been possible without the support of tablet/computer OEM’s that we work with.”

Wagner and Malik were present to receive the award at this year’s Wisconsin International Trade Conference on May 7th in Milwaukee.
