Stevens Point, WI – October 28, 2010 – Cygnus Law Enforcement Group honored Gamber-Johnson at its annual Innovation Awards Event during the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) tradeshow. The award was given to Gamber-Johnson’s Energizer eCoupled Flashlight and Charging Mount.
Gamber-Johnson, an ISO 9001:2008 certified manufacturer of rugged docking stations and vehicle mounting solutions, launched an industry-first commercial automotive product featuring eCoupled wireless technology at the beginning of the year. eCoupled is intelligent wireless power technology, is based on adaptive inductive coupling, that allows for safe and efficient power transfer without wires. eCoupled technology uses coils to transmit energy. When the eCoupled coil of a product comes into proximity with an eCoupled coil in the charging zone, the technology intelligently recognizes the product, interprets its power needs and immediately begins to transfer energy.
“Every day Gamber-Johnson is looking for new ways to meet the evolving needs of our clients. That means we have to stay on top of emerging technologies. Through a partnership with Fulton Innovation, the inventors of eCoupled intelligent wireless power, and Leggett & Platt CVP we were able to bring eCoupled to the commercial automotive market”, comments Brian Wagner, president of Gamber-Johnson. “It’s an honor to be recognized by industry peers for our efforts in developing innovated products.”
